Leh, June 10, 2024: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal chaired a crucial meeting on the Implementation of Three New Laws in the Union Territory of Ladakh, at Civil Secretariat Leh.

At the outset of the meeting a detailed presentation was presented by the Ladakh Police in which highlighted the preparedness for the implementation of The Three New Criminal Laws which includes human resources in which total of 1014 i.e., more than 50% police Officers/officials have been imparted training regarding the, Three New Criminal Laws in UT Ladakh, through Hybrid mode as well as on Training of Trainers (ToT) basis.Both the District SSPs are directed by worthy ADGP to issue directions to the subordinate officers to download the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB’s) SANKALAN Android App created by the National Crime record Bureau.

Moreover, it was also appraised the chair that, newly recruited 217 constables have been imparted training on the new Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) Core Application Software (CAS) 2.0. regarding infrastructure the chair directed all the pillars of Inter Operable Criminal Justice (ICJS) to speed up the procurement and also directed to submit more requirement. Specifically, equipment related to the infrastructure as per NCRB norms.

The progress of other Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) Pillars in Ladakh which include judiciary, prosecution, prison, forensics and police department were also discussed in detail.

The Advisor directed all the concerned officers to expedite the process of implementation of the Three New Criminal Laws in UT Ladakh.

The meeting specifically focussed on the successful implementation of Three New Criminal Laws by July 1st 2024, and technical upgradation.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Director General of Police Head, UT Ladakh; Administrative Secretary, Law and Justice Department, UT Ladakh; Administrative Secretary / General Administration Department, UT Ladakh; DIG Leh Kargil Range/ Director Prosecution; Registrar Computer-IT, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir Ladakh; Principal District and Session Judge, Leh; Director Finance, UT Ladakh; Sr. Superintendent of Police District Leh; Director Health Department, UT Ladakh; Deputy Director FSL, UT Ladakh; Additional Secretary Home; State Informatics Officer, NIC Leh, Sr PO/APP, APP Leh; Representative, M/S KPMG Consultant, CCTNS Ladakh. While Sr. Superintendent of Police District Kargil; Tahir Mahajan, ICJS Nodal Officer J&K and Ladakh; OSD of Information Technology, Ladakh joined the meeting virtually.
