2-day GST awareness programme organised by State Taxes Department begins in Kargil  

 

Kargil, Nov 02, 2023: The two-day GST Awareness Programme organized by the State Taxes Department UT Ladakh on TDS started today at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.

 

In his opening remarks, Director Finance and Additional Commissioner State Taxes Dept. Safdar Ali said the government officials, who deal with procurement should understand GST laws as it can clear their doubts.

 

He added that the concerned DDO’s should timely submit their returns and all the officers should take maximum benefits of the training program.

 

Assistant Commissioner, State Tax Department, Faisal Iqbal Tantry gave a session on TDS under UT GST act and made understand various technicalities related to it.

 

Zulfiqar Ali, Inspector State Tax Department gave a presentation on GST, including registration, return filing, input tax credit, and compliance procedures.

 

He also talked delivered on the importance of accurate record-keeping, CIN, CPIN, tax payment through PFMS, illustrations of various situations requesting deduction of tax and adherence to the GST guidelines, ensuring a smooth and transparent transition for businesses in the region, further he informed about the information to be repeated in TDS return and GSTR-7.

 

The event was attended by Chief Controller Finance Iftikhar Hussain, Sectorial Heads and concerned DDO’s and officials of various departments and concerned officers.
