LAHDC Leh hosted DISTRICT AWARD INVESTITURE CEREMONY

LAHDC Leh, proudly hosted the District Award Investiture Ceremony on Sept 9. This prestigious event, which had been on hiatus for two years, provided a platform to honor individuals whose exceptional contributions have greatly benefited the community and their respective fields.
Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson; Dy. Chairman, Tsering Angchuk; Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi; Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Culture, Stanzin Chosphel; DC/CEO, LAHDC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve; Hon’ble Councillor of Different Constituencies, ADDC Leh, Sonam Norbu;ADC Ghulam Mohd; CPO Tsewang Gyalson, Accounts officer, Leh Zulfikar Ali, officers and officials from concerned department and the awardees and their family members are present during the occasion.
The ceremony highlighted the achievements of several outstanding individuals. Jigmet Wangchuk was recognized for his pivotal work in the health sector, contributing significantly to public health initiatives. Shri Attaullah Khan, who holds the esteemed position of Naib Tehsildar, is a dedicated officer serving in government service. Jigmet Nurbu was celebrated for his role in popularizing Urdu poetry, bringing cultural enrichment through his literary contributions. Tsetan Dorjai, known for his skillful thanka artistry, was honored for preserving and advancing this traditional art form. Kunzang Angmo received accolades for her specialized knowledge and work with seabuckthorn, a crucial resource for the district. Sonam Chorol was acknowledged for her meticulous work as an accounts officer, ensuring transparency and efficiency in financial management. Rigzin Nurboo, a devoted teacher at Government High School Lingshed, was celebrated for his tireless efforts in educating and inspiring students. Cyclist Lekzes Angmo, whose achievements include numerous medals, was recognized for her excellence and dedication in sports.
In his address, H’CEC highlighted the importance of the District Awards in recognizing and celebrating the extraordinary achievements of individuals who contribute positively to society. He highlighted that this year’s ceremony is just the beginning, with plans to expand the scope and scale of future events to honor even more deserving individuals. The CEC also took a moment to remember Inspector Tsewang Namgyal, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. His legacy, the CEC noted, reinforces the importance of acknowledging and celebrating exceptional contributions.
DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve praised the dedication and hard work of Ladakh’s officers and workers, emphasizing that the strong work culture in the region is a testament to their commitment. He expressed confidence that recognizing these outstanding individuals will serve as an inspiration to others and encouraged continued excellence and innovation across all sectors.
