Special Cell for Women Kargil in collaboration with Women Police Station Kargil organized an awareness program at Jaffaria Academy of Modern Education Kurbathang kargil.
In this regard, the SHO of the Women Police Station introduced the functions of the Women Police Station and provided awareness to students about cybercrime and issues related to the cyber cell.
Both social workers from the Special Cell for Women participated in the program and briefly discussed the topic, “Understanding Gender-Based Violence.”
Khadim Hussain, a social worker, raised awareness among students about safe and unsafe touch, along with preventative measures.
Hassina Batool, a social worker, presented her presentation on gender-based violence, addressing different forms of domestic violence, patriarchy, masculinity, sexual harassment, and issues related to women’s safety. She also discussed the work of the Special Cell, the services it provides, and the impact of violence on women’s health.
Participants were also shown a short video on gender sensitization, including a UN video clip titled “Impossible Dream,” as well as a video titled “Starts with Boys,” which addressed stalking, domestic violence, and patriarchy in India. The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment.
