Department of Hindi in collaboration with School of Languages GDC Kargil today celebrated Hindi Divas in the college Seminar.Principal GDC Kargil, Prof. Deskit Angmo attended the program as chief guest. A large number of students and faculties attended the program.
Head Department of Hindi, Stanzin Ladol presented the welcome address and gave a brief introduction about Hindi Divas.
Fiza Banoo (3rd sem student) presented a speech on status of Hindi in Ladakh followed by recitation of poetic lines of Harivansh Rai Bachchan Ashok Prabhat and Ram Dhari Singh by Mohammad Issa (3rd sem student) , Villayat Ali (3rd sem) and Madam Niharika (Skill instructor) respectively.
Prof. Ali Shabir, Head Department of English, presented beautiful lines adapted from Ramayan and Mahabharat while Professor Tsewang Gialson recited poem in Dard Aryan language.
An engaging session of Idioms was also held in which Hindi idioms were asked to the audience and correct answers were reciprocated with prizes on the spot.
In her address, Principal Disket Angmo appreciated the organisers and stressed upon promoting Hindi learning among students. In the end certificates were distributed among the participant students.
