A mega camp under the Rashtriya Poshan Maah campaign organized by ICDS Tai Suru was held today at Village Tangole.
The camp jointly focused on anemia testing, Aadhaar seeding, and raising awareness on nutrition and hygiene. The event was inaugurated by CDPO Tai Suru, Praveen Akhtar, with a strong turnout from the local community, including children, parents, and villagers.
Parveen Akhtar emphasized the critical themes of this year’s 7th phase of the Poshan Maah, which includes anemia prevention, growth monitoring, and efficient service delivery through good governance and technology. Special attention was given to the “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” initiative, which aims to integrate both nutrition and education for the holistic development of children.
The camp provided multiple services, including, Aadhaar seeding for beneficiaries. Anemia testing was also conducted to ensure early detection and treatment, especially for children.
Height and weight measurement was part of the program to monitor the growth and health of children. Awareness was given on local nutritious foods, displayed by Anganwadi workers showcasing locally available nutritious food options.
They were also informed about health, hygiene, and cleanliness campaign promoting the importance of hygiene in preventing diseases.
CDPO Akhtar called on all Anganwadi workers, helpers, and supervisors to ensure that government schemes reach beneficiaries at the grassroots level, urging them to act as agents of change by delivering services directly to the community’s doorstep. The camp also stressed on the importance of supplementary nutrition for vulnerable sections of society, ensuring they receive proper health support.
The initiative marked an essential step in promoting health and nutrition in the region, drawing strong participation and engagement from the local community.
