Training on Solar Projects held for Ex-Servicemen in Kargil

Kargil, March 24, 2026: Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Kargil in collaboration with the Administrative Secretary, Technical Education and Skill Development Department, Ladakh and Director NIELIT, Kargil commenced a Solar Training for the first batch of Ex-Servicemen today at NIELIT, Chutuk, Kargil.

This initiative will facilitate training of Ex-Servicemen in aiding the implementation of Solar Projects in Kargil. This will further help in providing employment opportunities for the people of this region. As of now, the technical expertise is outsourced to technicians from other places who are not available during the harsh winter season.

Captain (IN) AK Pawar, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Kargil and Mr Mehboob Hussain, I/C NIELIT, Kargil addressed the first batch of the Ex-Servicemen for Solar Training Course of six months duration. The morale and enthusiasm exhibited by Ex-Servicemen was of very high order. Such courses for ESM and dependents of Kargil will become a regular feature and help in generating 2nd career options for ESM of Kargil.
