Kargil, September 29, 2026: ICDS Project Shargole organised a Poshan Maah programme-cum-PMMVY Registration Drive at Anganwadi Centre (AWC) Skamboo 2nd today under the overall supervision of CDPO Shargole, Ms. Farida Banoo.
The programme was attended by Nambardar of Skamboo, Ex-BDC Mr. Murad Ali, Supervisor Ms. Punchok Dolma, Junior Assistant, Block Coordinator, all three Anganwadi Workers of the village and around 32 participants, including Anganwadi beneficiaries, pregnant women, lactating mothers, parents, children and prominent members of the village.
Speaking on the occasion, CDPO Shargole Ms. Farida Banoo sensitised participants about Poshan Maah and its objectives. She emphasised the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet and encouraged the community to incorporate locally available nutritious food items into their daily diet. She also highlighted the need for collective efforts to address malnutrition and anaemia among women and children.
The Block Coordinator conducted an awareness session on the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), explaining the eligibility criteria, benefits, required documents and registration process under the scheme.
As part of the registration drive, five new PMMVY cases were identified, of which two eligible beneficiaries were registered on the PMMVY portal on the spot. The remaining beneficiaries were guided regarding completion of the required documentation for early registration.
Feedback was also obtained from beneficiaries regarding the PMMVY scheme. The beneficiaries shared their experiences and expressed satisfaction with the benefits being provided under the scheme. Their queries were addressed by the CDPO and Block Coordinator.
