Kargil ,02 October 2026: The People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) – “Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas” was held at the Block Office Shakar Chiktan.
The programme was held in the presence of SDM Shakar Chiktan Shri Ravi Shankar and BDO Shri Abbas Ali, along with officers from various departments. Nambardars and representatives from Shakar, Hagnis, Yokma Kharboo and Chiktan also participated and raised various public issues.
As part of the campaign, various departments set up stalls showcasing their schemes, services and products, and briefed the public about different government schemes and their benefits. SDM Ravi Shankar visited the stalls and interacted with the officials.
During the public interaction, Nambardars and community members raised issues including water shortage, difficulties in fisheries, shortage of doctors and nurses, and the need for an X-ray machine at the hospital. It was also highlighted that only one doctor is available against three sanctioned posts.
The participants further raised concerns regarding flood-affected areas. Issues related to incomplete water supply works under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) were also highlighted, along with the demand for better drinking-water facilities.
The public also raised demands for a public park, improved internet connectivity, and a community hall, along with other local infrastructure and development issues.
The concerned departmental officers present during the programme responded to the grievances raised by the public and assured that issues falling within their respective jurisdictions would be addressed at the earliest. Some issues were resolved on the spot, while matters requiring higher-level intervention were noted for further action.
SDM Ravi Shankar heard the grievances and assured the villagers that unresolved issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities and, where necessary, brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, for early resolution.
The SDM directed the concerned departments to address public grievances promptly and stressed that direct public interaction is vital for identifying local issues and ensuring effective implementation of development schemes.
