DC Kargil reviews progress of additional building at QAAM District Hospital 

Kargil, October 9, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, today visited the new additional building of Qamar Ali Akhoon Memorial District Hospital, Kargil, to review the progress of ongoing works and assess the facilities being put in place.

The DC was accompanied by the Executive Engineer, PWD; Executive Engineer, Mechanical; Medical Superintendent, Qamar Ali Akhoon Memorial District Hospital, Kargil, and doctors.

During the visit, the DC inspected various sections of the building and took stock of the status of pending works and essential facilities.

He directed the concerned departments to complete the Casualty section on priority and ensure that it is made functional at the earliest. He also instructed the installation of adequate heating systems in the building, keeping in view the winter season.

The DC stressed that all remaining works should be completed at the earliest, with proper coordination among the concerned departments. He also issued instructions regarding various maintenance and infrastructure-related works and directed the officers to address the pending requirements early.

DC Rakesh Kumar emphasised that the additional hospital infrastructure should be made fully functional at the earliest to strengthen healthcare facilities and improve services for the people of Kargil.
