KARGIL, OCTOBER 12:
The programme is organised by Enterprising Ladakh with support from the Department of Higher Education, UT Ladakh, and witnessed participation from students and faculty members interested in entrepreneurship, innovation and self-employment.
Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Paray, Faculty Member at EDII Ahmedabad and Project Team Lead, emphasised the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among Ladakhi youth and encouraged them to develop sustainable enterprises by utilising local resources and exploring emerging business opportunities.
Dr. Paray highlighted Ladakh’s potential in agribusiness, food processing, tourism, handicrafts and green technologies, stressing that entrepreneurship in these sectors can generate employment and promote sustainable livelihoods for local youth.
The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical business development by providing participants with essential entrepreneurial knowledge and exposure to opportunities for starting and managing their own ventures.
Scheduled from October 12 to 16, 2026, the programme will cover business planning, idea generation, marketing, financial literacy, and government schemes supporting aspiring entrepreneurs.
The sessions will also feature interactions with successful entrepreneurs, enabling participants to learn from practical experiences, understand business challenges and gain insights into establishing and managing enterprises.
The workshop is coordinated by Ms. Kaneez Fatima, Project Officer, Enterprising Ladakh, EDII Ahmedabad.
