The initiative, spearheaded by DIET Kargil through its dedicated STEM Team, has achieved a significant milestone by covering approximately 280 schools and engaging nearly 2,700 students across different educational zones of the district.
The programme reached students in the far-flung and remote areas of the district, including Zanskar, Taisuroo, Sankoo, Chiktan, Kargil, Drass and Shargole, providing them with opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through practical, activity-based and experiential learning.
The initiative was conceptualised and implemented by DIET Kargil under the supervision and guidance of Mr. Mehboob Ali, Nodal Officer, STEM Initiative, along with the dedicated efforts of the STEM Team and supporting faculty members.
The programme aimed to promote scientific temperament, innovation, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities among students, particularly those studying in schools with limited access to laboratory facilities and STEM resources.
The successful completion of this initiative reflects DIET Kargil’s commitment to strengthening science education, bridging educational gaps and ensuring equitable access to quality, experiential learning opportunities for students across the district.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the collective efforts of the STEM Team, participating schools, teachers, students and all those who contributed to making this initiative a success.
