DC Leh approves Action Plan of MGNREGA for 2022-23

Leh, April 02: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse approved the annual action plan under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the year 2022-23 in a meeting held with the concerned officers today.

The action plan for the year 2022-23 under MGNREGA envisions achieving 3001 works generating a total of 15.42 lakh man-days under different categories, such as Micro Irrigation (737), Land Development (1431), Rural connectivity (516), Rural sanitation (109), Promotion of livestock (86) and Water conservation and harvesting (47) among many others.

DC Leh instructed all the Block Development Officers to emphasise achieving the targets timely with special focus on the greywater management units which is essential part of JJM,plantation drive as well as water conservation works under MGNREGA this year. He also directed the officers to make optimum utilization of the working season.

DC Leh impressed upon the officers that the DPRs should be prepared well in time.

Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Leh, Sonam Nurboo urged the BDOs to achieve 80% of the targets by October. He also instructed them to upload the data on the MGNREGA portal as and when works are completed.

Chief Planning Officer, Leh; ADC Leh; Block Development Officers of all the blocks and concerned officers attended the meeting.
