Tourism Department observes International Mountain Day

Kargil, Dec 11, 2022: Tourism Department Kargil today observed International Mountain Day.

Chief Planning Officer Abdul Hadi was the chief guest, Accounts Officer to DC Kargil Shamim Ahmed, Assistant Tourism Officer Ghulam Rasool Lal, Former AD Tourism Haji Muhammad Hussain, representatives of various associations and concerned officers were present during the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the ATO Ghulam Rasool Lal said the annual event is organized to spread awareness regarding the importance of mountains and sustainable tourism.

He also presented a presentation on the achievements of the Tourism Department and various important trekking routes in Kargil.

Addressing the event, CPO Abdul Hadi said considering the beauty and sensitivity of the mountains all stakeholders should explore and promote the beauty of mountains to attract international tourists. He also expressed gratitude to the Tourism Department for organizing the event.

Later the associations associated with tourism and media fraternity were felicitated by the Tourism Department for their contribution in promotion of tourism in Kargil.
