UT Ladakh Participates first time in Senior National and Inter State Table Tennis Championship

In a first, Ladakh union territory is participating in the Senior National and Inter State Table Tennis Championship being held in Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir

The championship commenced in Jammu on 20th of March and will culminate on 27th of March 2023. Team Ladakh includes five women and five men with the President of the Table Tennis Association, Thufstan Tsering.

The mega event was declared open by Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor J&K, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.

More than 900 players are participating in this mega event which includes 34 men teams and 32 in women’s section from all over the country.

While flagging off the Team from Leh last Saturday for the 84th Senior National and Inter-State Table-Tennis Championship, Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Ladakh Ravinder Kumar wished team of 10 participants all the best.

For qualifying for the said championship, the UT level matches were held across Ladakh UT wherein Under 17 boys, under 17 girls, Men’s singles, Men’s doubles, Women’s singles and Women’s doubles matches have been played by participants from Leh and Kargil.

Table Tennis Association of Ladakh (registered & affiliated to the Table Tennis Federation of India) in collaboration with Youth services & Sports organized had organized the matches under 1st UT Ladakh level Table Tennis championship-2023.
