Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal Chairs State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) Meeting under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY)-Housing for All (Urban).

Leh, July 13, 2024:-Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal convened a meeting of the State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY)-Housing for All (Urban) at the Civil Secretariat in Leh.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana guidelines, issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India, aim to address the housing requirements of the urban poor for large scope “Housing for All by 2022” mission.

During the meeting, Director of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Ladakh, Tahir Hussain, delivered a thorough presentation on the physical progress of PMAY-U, specifically focusing on the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component. He highlighted that all current beneficiaries are from the districts of Leh and Kargil.

The agenda items for the 5th SLSMC meeting included the Action Taken Report of the 4th SLSMC meeting, the rejection of beneficiaries and their removal from the PMAY-MIS portal, and the allocation of additional manpower, including one person for the State Level Technical Cell (SLTC) and one for the City Level Technical Cell (CLTC) for training purposes, extended for 2024-2025.

Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal emphasized the importance of allowing the SLSMC scheme to proceed smoothly and efficiently.

The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department, Ladakh,Sanjeev Khirwar, Senior Accounts Officer,Stanzin Donsal; Administrative Secretary of the Forest Ecology & Environment Department, Ladakh ,Dr.Vasanthakumar Namasivayam; the State Nodal Officer, PMAY-HFA(U)/Director of Urban Local Bodies, Ladakh, Tahir Hussain; and the Convener of the UT Level Banker’s Committee of UT Ladakh,Tsering Murup. Additionally, out-stationed officers and officials attended virtually.
