All Ladakh PMSSS Student Union Meets MP Ladakh to Address Student Issues

New Delhi 05 february 2025 – The executive members of the All Ladakh PMSSS Student Union met with
Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh to discuss critical issues affecting students under the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).

During the meeting, the executive members highlighted the delay in scholarship disbursement by AICTE, emphasizing the financial hardships faced by students. The MP assured them that he would take up the matter with the higher authorities to expedite the process.

Another key issue raised was the demand for the extension of PMSSS from three years to four years. The MP responded positively and assured the Union that he would arrange a meeting with the Ministry of Education to deliberate on this crucial matter.

Additionally, the Union requested the MP to arrange counseling sessions for students in Leh and Kargil to guide them before the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The MP assured that he would coordinate with the All Ladakh Student Union to organize these sessions at the block level in both districts before the CUET exam.

Furthermore, Prof. Hassan (Delhi University), who was also part of the discussion, assured the Union that a special counseling session would be arranged with the Dean of Delhi University to provide academic guidance to Ladakhi students before CUET.

The Union executive members expressed their gratitude to both MP Ladakh and Prof. Hassan for their commitment to supporting Ladakhi students and ensuring they receive the necessary assistance for their academic journey.
