An AMU Young Ladakhi Student Releases his Debut Memoir: Lost and Found in Aligarh
In a proud moment for Ladakh, Ali Asgar Balti, a young writer hailing from Drass, has released his debut autobiographical memoir titled *Lost and Found in Aligarh*. The book captures Ali’s deeply personal journey of self-discovery and transformation during his time at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
A current student of biochemistry and President of the Ladakh Students’ Welfare Society Aligarh, Ali has been an active voice for Ladakhi youth, previously contributing articles to local publications such as *Voice of Ladakh* and *Stawa*. Now, with his first book, he offers readers a glimpse into the emotional and intellectual struggles faced by a student navigating life far from home.
The memoir blends poetic storytelling with sharp reflections on identity, belonging, ambition, and friendship, making it not just a personal narrative but also a relatable tale for young students across India. The cover, a symbolic artwork of a head tangled in thoughts, captures the essence of confusion and clarity that shapes the book’s theme.
*Lost and Found in Aligarh* is a heartfelt addition to contemporary student literature and a proud milestone for Ladakh’s growing literary voices. *Lost and Found in Aligarh* is now available in Aligarh print and will soon be accessible at Kargil through regional bookstores.
