Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council to set up training centre in Kargil by August

KARGIL, JUNE 11, 2022: Mounica Bahal, CEO Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC) and its DGM Ankita, in association with MGNF Kargil today met Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve.

They discussed to set up a training Centre-cum-lab in Kargil by early August 2022 for training in Beauty Therapist Course which is aimed to empower underprivileged Kargil youth and women. Deputy Commissioner, Kargil extended his full support in establishing the training centre in Kargil.

At the centre, the B&WSSC will be providing training kit to participants with financial funding support through its CSR partner to train the youth in beauty therapist course.

The B&WSSC team (CEO and DGM) along with MGNF Kargil also visited Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kargil where they interacted with students about the upcoming Beauty Therapist Course at GDC Kargil girls hostel and its opportunities, advantages and encouraged all the students to utilize this course opportunity.

 

B&WSSC is a not for profit organization promoted by CII, with financial support from the National Skill Development Corporation, under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.

The aim of the SSC is to focus on establishing an effective and efficient ecosystem for developing and imparting skills in the Beauty and Wellness industry, through relevant content and curriculum, courses, information database, delivery systems and standardization of the accreditation and certification process, to enhance the employability of the Indian workforce globally.

The SSC is chaired by Dr Blossom Kochhar, and has icons from the industry such as Sandeep Ahuja, Gurpreet Seble and other prominent industry members.

Since its inception, it has taken several steps towards organizing this sector by creating 106 job roles in demand, out of which 60 are QRC cleared and 21 job roles are NSQC cleared.

The present intervention of establishing the training Centre is a Part of Ladakh Skill Development Mission (LSDM) through the District Skill Committee of Kargil
