Cleanliness drive-cum-awareness campaign held at Pangong lake
Leh, April 16: A cleanliness drive-cum-awareness campaign was held at Pangong lake area by the villagers of Pangong A and B Panchayat on April 15, in which Councillor Konchok Stanzin; Block Development Officer, Durbuk along with the staff of Rural Development Department, Durbuk; Sarpanches; Panches; Nambarders and Volunteers participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Councillor Konchok Stanzin, Block Development Officer Durbuk and others speakers shared about Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign and the importance of keeping the environment and surroundings around Pangong lake neat and clean as it is a famous tourist destination and generates livelihood opportunities for the native as well as for whole Ladakh.
The speakers also urged the public to cooperate with the concerned department and the Committee of Solid Resource Management Centre (SRMC) Pangong under the TSANGDA project for segregation of waste.
On the occasion, the SRMC Pangong was made functional for public convenience.
