Kargil, April 13, 2026: The Commissioner Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Union Territory of Ladakh, Dr. Laltinkhuma Franklin (IAS), today reviewed the healthcare facilities at Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo in Kargil district.
He was accompanied by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, Dr. Mohammad Abass Akhoon; Block Medical Officer (BMO) Sankoo, Dr. Zahida Khatun; along with other consultants and medical officers of CHC Sankoo.
During the visit, the Commissioner Secretary inspected various sections of the health centre including the General Ward, Emergency Unit, Minor Operation Theatre, Operation Theatre, Eye OPD, and other OPD sections to assess the quality of healthcare services being provided.
Block Medical Officer Sankoo, Dr. Zahida Khatun informed that CHC Sankoo is equipped with modern medical equipment and adequate infrastructure to cater to the needs of patients effectively. She also briefed about the range of healthcare services being provided at the centre.
The visit concluded with a detailed discussion with the Chief Medical Officer Kargil and Block Medical Officer Sankoo regarding key requirements and logistical needs of the health centre.
Dr. Laltinkhuma Franklin reiterated the administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and ensuring quality patient care across the Union Territory of Ladakh.
