Comprehensive Training Programme for Booth Level Officers Held in District Kargil


Kargil, April 03, 2026: District Election Officer, Kargil conducted a training programme for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of District Kargil today at Conference Hall, Baroo. The BLOs of Zanskar attended the training virtually.

Zakir Hussain, Election Officer, Kargil at the outset briefed the BLOs about their role and responsibilities, then Mohd Amin Election Assistant (SLMT) Kargil imparted technical training to the BLOs thoroughly. 

The training was organized with the objective of enhancing the knowledge, skills, and operational preparedness of BLOs for effective discharge of their duties in the electoral process.

The session covered a wide range of topics critical to the functioning of BLOs, including their roles and responsibilities under the Representation of the People Act, 1950; the Representation of the People Act, 1951; the Representation of the People Act, 1960; and the Representation of the People Act, 1961, along with the latest directives issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Key areas of discussion included procedures for the appointment and duties of BLOs, communication strategies for effective coordination with Booth Level Agents (BLAs), and an overview of the Summary Revision (SSR) process, including the collection and processing of claims and objections. 

The training also focused on techniques for conducting House-to-House Surveys to ensure the accuracy of electoral rolls, types of forms, responsibilities of BLOs on Poll Day to facilitate free and fair elections, and the usage and features of the BLO Mobile App to enhance efficiency in field-level operations.

The programme aimed to strengthen the institutional capacity of BLOs, ensure seamless coordination at the grassroots level, and promote transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
