Delhi Air Quality Shows Mild Improvement, But Pollution Still at Concerning Levels

New Delhi, December 4, 2025: Delhi woke up to slightly cleaner air this morning, offering limited relief after several days of choking pollution. According to the latest readings from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) hovered around 298–299, placing it in the “Poor” category.

Though the improvement is marginal, it marks a notable shift from the previous day, when AQI levels had climbed to 372 in some areas—bordering the “Very Poor” and near-“Severe” range. Several parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) witnessed dense smog on Tuesday driven by low wind speeds, low temperatures, and trapped emissions.
