DLSA Kargil organizes awareness program on POCSO Act at Mutahhary Public School Baroo

Kargil, August 21, 2023: As per the plan of action and calendar of activities, the District Legal Services Authority Kargil today organized an awareness program on “POCSO Act” at Mutahhary Public School Baroo.

The program was attended by Murtaza Khalili principal, teaching and and non-teaching staff of Mutahhary Public School members, staff members of DLSA Kargil, PLVS of front office and 200 students

On the occasion Adv. Nissar Hussain briefed about POCSO Act. He said that POCSO means protection of children from sexual offences adding the Act protect children from offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and provide for establishment of special court for trail of such offence and for matters connected there with or incidental thereto.

It also reduces the ambiguity and vagueness around the definition of a child, and it identifies a child as an individual less than 18 years of age.

In the end, Murtaza Khalili, Principal Mutahhary Public School Baroo, thanked DLSA Kargil for organizing such fruitful programme in their institution.
