Empowering Healthcare: PMJAY Kargil’s Remarkable Journey in Ayushman Card Creation
In an exemplary display of commitment to public health, PMJAY Kargil, operating under the State Health Agency, UT Ladakh, has undertaken a transformative initiative in creating Ayushman Cards for beneficiaries in the Kargil District. The District Coordinator, spearheading this noble cause, recently shared insights during a flagship interview at All India Radio Kargil, shedding light on the benefits of the AB PMJAY Scheme and explaining the simple process of obtaining an Ayushman Card.
Understanding the importance of widespread awareness, the District Coordinator took proactive measures. a large hoarding was erected at the District Hospital in Kargil, acting as an informative beacons for the local populace. Additionally, radio jingles broadcasted through AIR Kargil served as an effective medium to reach a broader audience, educating them on the significance of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PMJAY) Scheme.
In a series of events during #RashtriyaEktaDiwas at the auditorium hall, the PMJAY team in Kargil, led by the District Coordinator, facilitated the creation of Ayushman Cards. This initiative went beyond symbolic gestures, as the team diligently visited various departments in Kargil for card creation, adhering to the directives of Deputy Commissioner Kargil.
Ensuring inclusivity, the team extended its efforts to all Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and the District Hospital in Kargil. The meticulous execution of Ayushman Card creation continued unabated, with a dedicated focus on reaching every eligible beneficiary.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by a lack of internet connectivity in certain areas, the Community Health Officers (CHOs) took charge. Mobilizing villagers, Ayushman Card creation was facilitated at Old District Hospital Kargil and Inqilab Manzil Qatilgah Kargil, embodying the team’s adaptability and commitment to universal health coverage.
Under the visionary guidance of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, all Block Medical Officers (BMOs), and the entire health department staff, a commendable and dedicated effort is underway. The objective is clear – to ensure 100 per cent coverage of beneficiaries under PMJAY and Universal Health Coverage.
PMJAY Kargil’s unwavering dedication to improving healthcare accessibility and the successful creation of Ayushman Cards underscore the transformative impact of community-driven initiatives in the pursuit of a healthier, more resilient society. Pertinently Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), also is a flagship healthcare initiative launched by the Government of India. The scheme was introduced to provide Health Insurance Coverage up to rupees 5 lakh per family per year.
