The Hon’ble Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson officiated the flag off ceremony for the local skating team at the Council Secretariat, LAHDC. This event marked the start of their journey to Delhi, from where they will continue their travel to the Philippines to compete on the international stage.National Coach Mohammad Abbas Nordak;General Secretary Ladakh Ice Skating Association(LISA)Tundup Namgyal;District Youth Service and Sports Tsering Tashi were present during the ceremony.
During the event, the skating team was introduced, and their impressive achievements were highlighted by Coach Mohammad Abbas Nordak. Coach Nordak emphasized the significance of the team’s selection for the Asian Games trials, describing it as a considerable accomplishment and underscoring the magnitude of participating in the Asian Games.
CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson expressed his unwavering support for the team, assuring that the Council would provide necessary backing for their journey. He also indicated plans to seek additional support and sponsorship from entities such as Mahindra and other corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to further support the team’s participation.
The ceremony was a proud moment for the Leh community as they sent off their athletes with high hopes for their performance on the international stage.
