GDC Kargil holds counselling-cum-awareness session on Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana

Kargil, June 21, 2023: Govt. Degree College Kargil today conducted a counselling-cum-workshop session in association with AICTE, New Delhi on Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana (previously known as PMSSS).

The lead speakers on the occasion from AICTE were Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Member Secretary AICTE, New Delhi, Prof. Kunal Jeet Singh, Director, PMUSP, New Delhi and Prof. Ajeet Angral Consultant, PMUSP. AICTE, New Delhi. Faculty members of the college, and around 300 students from nearby Higher Secondary Schools participated in the event.

Prof. Rajiv Kumar highlighted the details of the scholarship procedures, the plethora of available courses which one can avail through the scheme, about medical, dental and law studies through this scheme.

Prof. Kunal threw light on general mistakes which students make during registration, verification, choice-filling procedures and overall eligibility of students for this scheme.

Prof. Ajeet spoke at length about the challenges and practical experiences of students availing this scheme in various parts of India.

The guests and the audience were formally welcomed by Dr. Javed M Iqbal, Officiating Principal, while Dr Konchok Dolma, Coordinator PMSSS Centre, GDC, Kargil presented the vote of thanks.
