Ladakh Education Fair 2022 inaugurated at GDC Kargil

Kargil, August 19, 2022:

Lieutenant Governor Ladakh R K Mathur today virtually inaugurated Ladakh Education Fair 2022 which was simultaneously inaugurated by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan here at GDC Kargil.

Padma Shri Awardee, poet, writer, Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, retired IAS Officer and author Kacho Asfandyar Khan Faridoon, Principal GDC Kargil Dr Amina Qari, General Manager District Industries Centre Iftikhar Naseem besides faculty members, students and concerned officers were present during the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEC said that such programs are essential in shaping youth, at higher secondary and college level adding that students need essential counselling and consultation in order to choose right career path.

Khan advised students to not get disappointed by failures and suggested them to focus on careers and equip themselves with required skills, education and information.

While congratulating the UT Administration and organizers for organizing the Ladakh Education Fair, the CEC suggested students to taking benefits from the event.

The first day of the fair started with a welcome address by the principal GDC Kargil.

A panel discussion on โ€˜Career Prospects in Ladakhi writing and literatureโ€™ was chaired by Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Kacho Asfandyar Khan Faridoon while the session was moderated by poet, Dr (Prof.) Jawad Jalib Amini.

The students and concerned departments displayed various stalls in the college campus on theme of the fair. The dignitaries distributed momentos amongst the participants.

Prof. Parveen Fatima presented vote of thanks while Prof. Archo Fatimah conducted the program proceedings.

The 2-day event is being organized by the Department of Higher Education, Department of Skill Development Ladakh and supported by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
