Marathon conducted by Indian Army concludes at Drass
Kargil, June 30, 2024: The Indian Army, in collaboration with Sarhad Foundation, Pune and civil administration conducted various marathons at Drass which concluded today.
The marathon of each group concluded peacefully. Major General Satyapal Malik 8 Mtn Div GOC, Brigadier 56 mtn Sumit Arora, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Srikant Suse, SDM Drass, SHO Drass, Councillor Lower Constituency and other officials were also present. Position holders of each group were awarded with certificates. The VIPs were awarded with momentous.
In 44 km men Nawang string bagged first, Rigzin Gyurmeth second and Anil Zindal bagged third position.
In 44 km women Diskit Dolma got first and Lamgal Lamo bagged second position.
In 25 km men Tether Kumar got first and Hans Raj got second position.
In 25 km women Tashi Landol bagged first Stanzin dolker bagged second and Kulsum Banoo third position.
Similarly, in 10 km men Zafar Ali bagged first, Zaknez Tubtan got second and Nawaz Ali bagged third position.
In 10 km women, Stanzin Chondol, Skarma Lanzes and Asiya Banoo bagged first, second and third position respectively.
In 7.5 km men Barket Ali got first and Raghav Sharma got second position.
In 7.5 km women Zahra Batool, Nusrat Sakena and Zanib Banoo bagged first, second and third position respectively.
In 4 km men Asif Ali got first and Zulfiqar Ali got second position.
In 4 km women Tahira Banoo, Tesal Angmo and Hakima Banoo bagged first, second and third position respectively.
Sarhad Shauryathon has the potential to transform Drass as a hub of adventure tourism and efforts of Indian Army are surely going to benefit the local populace and local economy.
