Market checking held in Kargil, fine imposed on defaulters

Kargil, July 10, 2024: On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kargil, a comprehensive market checking operation was conducted today by the Market Checking Squad.

The market checking squad included officials from Food Safety and other relevant departments and carried out inspections across various market areas.

During the operation, fines amounting to Rs 1500 were imposed on defaulters who were found violating the established market regulations.

In addition, the squad successfully identified and destroyed 45 kilograms of rotten fruits and vegetables, ensuring that these substandard and potentially rotten, putrid foods were removed from circulation.

It was informed that regular inspections will continue to ensure compliance with food safety norms and to protect the health and well-being of the residents of Kargil.

The team comprised designated Officer Food Safety, Nayeem Ahmad Lone; Mohd Musa & Hussain Ali TSOs of FS&CA, Sanitary Inspector MC Kargil, Rayees Ahmad & other officers of the squad.
