RD&PRD organizes awareness program under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase-II at Trespone
KARGIL, August 21, 2022:
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RD&PRD) UT Ladakh today organized an awareness program under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase-II at Trespone A and B. The program was organized on the direction of Director RD&PRD Tahir Hussain Zubdavi.
District Panchayat Officer (DPO), Padma Angmo, BDO Asgar Ali, District Supervisor Solid Waste Management Toha, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Goma Minji Naqi Ali, Naib Sarpanch Trespone B Mohd Hussain, Naib Sarpanch Trespone A Nisar Hussain, Panches and local residents participated in the program.
During the program, locals were given awareness about the importance of cleanliness, waste disposal and segregation, solid waste management etc.
Speaking on the occasion the officials said cleanliness is the responsibility of all stakeholders and under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen’s 2nd phase, the department is trying to ensure proper cleanliness and the least usage of plastic.
While informing about the activities of the department, the DPO said that efforts are being made for effective solid and liquid waste management in the district.
She stressed that people should lead the movement of Swachh Bharat Mission and be an example for others in the proper management of solid waste.
The DPO gave awareness about solid waste management and appealed to people to maintain cleanliness around their surroundings. She also informed the public about various interventions in achieving the goals of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen phase-II.
Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Goma Minji Nagvi Ali also shared his experiences about the overall status of the cleanliness measures and solid waste management. He also gave awareness to people about how to make the cleanliness and solid waste management successful.
He appealed to people to cooperate with the RD&PRD and the local authorities in order to ensure proper cleanliness and waste management in the area.
The Sarpanch said the participants of the program would be appreciated and should spread the message of cleanliness to other people.
Later, the PRI members and locals of the area thanked the RD&PRD for organizing the program in the area and assured full cooperation to the department.
