SDM Sankoo reviews arrangements with regard to Muharram

Kargil, July 11, 2024: Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sankoo, Waseem Ramzan chaired a meeting on Wednesday with all the concerned officers of various departments and religious heads regarding preparation and necessary arrangements to be made in view of Muharram.

Initially, the chair, welcomed all the participants and sought their suggestions to make foolproof arrangements during Muharram, so that the devotees may not suffer due to want of requisite facilities.

The chair entrusted responsibility to all the concerned departments to provide uninterrupted service to people during the Muharram, in a hassle free manner, pertaining to their departments.

During the meeting, BMO Sankoo was directed to ensure all medical facilities, including ambulance at all the required places or Imambada’s during the mourning procession, especially on 10th & 13th Muharram.

Additionally, PHE officials were exhorted to make available the water tankers at each and every required place, in close coordination with the concerned religious heads, as per past practice, ensuring best service to the people. Also PDD officials were directed to provide uninterrupted power supply throughout Muharram..

Besides, Executive Engineer, SVD, Sankoo was directed to upkeep the premises of SVD-Sankoo, prior to 10th Muharram, and it’s reservation for offering congregational prayers.

Apart from this, BDO Sankoo has been tasked with engaging waste carrying hooper for collecting and disposing the waste to be generated during the mourning procession.

Furthermore, PP Sankoo was directed to regulate the traffic flow, on 9th, 10 th and 13th Muharram, by restricting the vehicles from parking on the designated routes for mourning procession of Muharram, for ensuring smooth observation of Muharram and Julus.

The SDM requested the religious heads to extend their overwhelming support to the administration for effective arrangements during Muharram.The religious heads assured the chair for their full support and cooperation.

The religious heads also extended their gratitude to the SDM for conducting the meeting with all stakeholders with the objective to provide better service to the devotees during Muharram.
