SDM Zanskar reviews road conditions, drinking water facilities at Dorjay Zong Nunnery
Kargil, Jan 28, 2023: Sub Divisional Magistrate, Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay today visited Dorjay Zong Nunnery to review the road condition and drinking water issues.
During the visit, he inspected JJM submersible pump and storage tank at Techa Khasar of Yulsum village and stressed concerned engineers to restore supply of drinking water which was frozen due to severe cold and directed them to resolve the drinking water issue of the villagers.
The SDM directed the engineers of PHE to immediately restore drinking water in Nunnery area and provide a reservoir tank for stock of drinking water so that the nuns don’t suffer.
He also interacted with the nuns and assured them to provide drinking water facility and clearance of road whenever there is snowfall in the region. The SDM also appealed the young nuns to help the elders by providing water and other necessities at her residence.
