In a bid to ensure strict adherence to food safety and public health standards, a surprise inspection was carried out today across markets in Wakha, Mulbekh, and Shargole.
The inspection team was led by Naib Tehsildar Shargole, Mohammad Ali, and was accompanied by the Station House Officer (SHO) Wakha, Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Shargole, along with police personnel. The drive aimed to monitor compliance with food safety regulations and assess hygiene practices in local eateries.

During the visit, officials conducted on-the-spot checks of hotels, restaurants, and other food outlets. The inspection focused on verifying expiry dates of packaged and perishable food items, evaluating cleanliness and sanitation in kitchens and dining areas, and ensuring that food quality standards were being maintained for public consumption.
The inspection revealed that certain establishments were not complying with mandatory norms prescribed under food safety laws and local administrative guidelines. As a corrective and deterrent measure, fines amounting to Rs. 2,000 were imposed on violators.

Shop and establishment owners were counseled on the importance of maintaining proper hygiene and adhering to food safety standards. They were also cautioned that repeated violations could invite stricter action, including temporary closure of establishments or legal proceedings.
The administration reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public health and emphasized that such surprise inspections will continue regularly to ensure safe and hygienic food practices across the region.
