CEC Feroz Khan takes stock of healthcare facilities in Sodh, Batalik area

Reviews pace of progress achieved on irrigation canals, urge people to strictly adhere to COVID-19 protocols

KARGIL, MAY 22, 2021

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan during his visit to Sodh and Batalik areas today took stock of healthcare facilities at different health centres from Akchamal to Batalik.

Interacting with the healthcare personnel, the CEC stressed them to work with added zeal and dedication in providing satisfactory healthcare facilities to the people. He also assured the healthcare staff that various issues related to the strengthening of the health centres like provision of upgraded medical equipments, infrastructure and manpower will be addressed in a phased manner.

The CEC directed the concerned health functionaries to project the requirements for up gradation of the health centres in terms of medical equipments and other related infrastructure within a week’s time so that these centres are developed as model medical centres. He said that concrete measures will be taken to improve the health centres like provision of upgraded medical equipments, repair and renovation works, enhancement of manpower and other requisite facilities for which special funds have been kept under different schemes.

At NTPHC Batalik, the CEC held a meeting with the medical functionaries to discuss the issues being faced by health workers in the villages of the area. He also inquired about the facilities being provided to the patients at NTPHC Batalik.

Dr Ashwani Koul, Medical Officer briefed the CEC about the facilities and problems being faced to which the CEC assured that all basic necessities such as laboratory, requirements of dental section, x-ray and portable oxygen concentrators will be provided soon.

The CEC also advised the Medical Officer and the paramedics to impart awareness to the general public about Covid Appropriate Behavior and keep strict surveillance in their respective villages.

The CEC also listened to the developmental needs and grievances of the locals and assured them of taking appropriate measures to redress the issues. He also urged them to ensure strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocols so as to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan also took stock of the pace of progress achieved on the construction of irrigation canals at Lhalung and Gongma Silmoo and directed the concerned officers to ensure completion of these projects within the stipulated timelines.

The CEC also took stock of the screening of inbound passengers at Garkone Screening Point and assured the medical team that the issue with regard to the necessary renovation of the screening point building will be taken up with the authorities of PWD Department Kargil besides other requisite facilities will also be provided to the screening staff.

Block Medical Officer Kargil Dr Fatima Nissa, Assistant Executive Engineer I&FC Kargil Muhammad Hassan besides the officers of other concerned departments accompanied the CEC during the tour.
