2nd edition of the Ladakh Education Fair to be held on 24-25th and 25-26th August in Government Degree Colleges; Career Guidance, Subject Choice, Skill Opportunities, Scholarship & Apprenticeship to be the focus 

 

Leh, August 22: The Higher Education Department is organizing the Second Edition of ‘Ladakh Education Fair 2023’ in the six college campuses – Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil, GDC Nubra, GDC Drass, and GDC Zanskar and GDC Kargil-Sankoo extension on 24th-25th August and EJM College Leh on 25th-26th August 2023. Commissioner Secretary of Higher Education, UT Ladakh Padma Angmo announced this during a press briefing today.

 

The Ladakh Education Fair 2023 targets students of colleges besides students of ITIs, and Polytechnic Colleges and shall offer counseling on the choice of subjects, career guidance, apprise students about various scholarship schemes of the Government of India, and Ladakh Administration, and facilitate them for applying for the Scholarships besides exposing students to skilling and apprenticeship opportunities. Additionally, information regarding various scholarships offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, and Ministry of Tribal Affairs will also be shared with the students by the officers of the Social & Tribal Welfare Department, informed the Commissioner Secretary.

 

The Ladakh Education Fair will provide a platform for students to interact with experts from the field of education, armed forces, health services, and Administration, and successful professionals from the field of Film, Journalism, Wildlife Conservation, etc. besides senior faculty members of the University of Ladakh and its constituent colleges. Sessions will also be held on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drones and Employability Skills. Successful entrepreneurs from Ladakh will also be invited to share their journeys, experiences, and learnings to inspire the youth. School students have been invited and special sessions have been curated for them to counsel them on choice of subjects.

 

Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) has been invited as the Chief Guest and Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal as Guest of Honour at EJM College, Leh, while Vice Chancellor of Ladakh University Prof. S. K. Mehta is invited as the Chief Guest at GDC, Kargil.
