By Nubra, September 29, 2026: The 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 was celebrated today at the Anganwadi Centre located at Government Higher Secondary School, Partapur, Nubra, under the theme “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari.” The programme was organised by the Department of Social and Tribal Welfare in collaboration with ICDS Nubra.
Deputy Commissioner, Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, IAS, graced the occasion as the chief guest and addressed the gathering. Emphasising the importance of proper nutrition during childhood, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to prevent malnutrition and ensure the healthy growth and development of children.
He highlighted the vital role played by Anganwadi Centres in promoting child health, nutrition and overall well-being. Stressing the importance of Anganwadi Management Committees, he advised members to convene meetings regularly and actively contribute towards improving services and facilities for children. He also underscored the need for effective implementation of various welfare schemes for the benefit of children and mothers.
On the occasion, Sonam Nilza, CDPO Nubra, briefed the gathering on the significance of the 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah and the various schemes being implemented under the programme, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).
She highlighted the importance of these schemes and informed the gathering that seven Anganwadi Management Committees are functioning in the area. She further stated that various activities had already been conducted as part of Poshan Maah.
As part of the programme, children
from the Anganwadi Centre presented colourful dance performances, which were appreciated by the gathering.
A display of nutritious food items was also organised to showcase the types of nutritious food provided to children at Anganwadi Centres. The Deputy Commissioner inspected the display and reviewed the nutritional provisions being made available to the children.
The programme was attended by the Principal of GHSS Partapur, staff members of ICDS Nubra, parents, women from the village of Partapur and other members of the public.
