International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking: DLSA Kargil organizes awareness program at Shargole
Kargil, June 26, 2023: As per the plan of action and calendar of activities, the District Legal Services Authority Kargil today organized an awareness program on “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Shargole.
The program was attended by the Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, students of the Higher Secondary School, DLSA staff members and PLVs.
Advocate Nissar Hussain who was the resource person on the occasion thoroughly highlighted the importance and significance of the day.
He also said that the day is observed across the country to raise awareness regarding the ill effects associated with drug abuse.
Another resources person Adv. Syed Mehdi Aga highlighted the issue of drug abuse. He also briefed the disadvantages of use of drugs in society in general and families in particular.
He enlightened the students regarding the benefits of education to cope with sociological crimes. He further enlightened the students with about laws against drug abuse.
In the end Teshi Namgyail, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Shargole thanked DLSA Kargil for organizing such a fruitful awareness program in their school.
Similar programs were also organized by TLSCs and Legal Aid Clinics by their respective PLVS at their respective areas.
The International Day Against Drug Abuse is observed annually on 26 June to raise awareness about drug abuse and spread information to people about its side effects.
