In preparation for the upcoming recruitment examinations, the Ladakh Subordinate Staff Service Selection Board (LSSSSB) organised a comprehensive orientation programme for invigilators, centre superintendents and authentication teams in Kargil. The session was conducted under the guidance of Secretary LSSSSB, Dr. Zahida Banoo, who stressed the importance of professionalism and transparency throughout the examination process.

The training was attended by key district officials, including Tehsildar Kargil Ayaz Ahmad, Assistant Director FCS&CA Samina Khatoon, Executive Officer MC Kargil Arifa Iqbal, District Informatics Officer Iftikhar Hussain, and AO to DC Zakir Hussain.

During the briefing, participants were reminded of the strict timelines to be followed on exam day. Examination centres will open at 8:30 AM, question papers will be distributed at 9:00 AM, and invigilators must report to their respective rooms by 10:30 AM to complete seating arrangements, attendance verification and series allotment. The exam will commence at 11:00 AM and run for 90 minutes, with extra time provided only to candidates officially certified under the PwD category.

LSSSSB officials reiterated the complete prohibition of mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices and all other electronic gadgets inside exam centres. Gender-wise frisking will be carried out, and movement to washrooms will remain restricted, except in exceptional circumstances approved by the Centre Superintendent.

Authentication teams received detailed instructions on candidate identification, proper use of Android verification devices, maintaining adequate lighting for biometric procedures and ensuring error-free scanning. Clear guidelines were also issued for handling OMR sheets, including counting, sorting and sealing both used and unused forms after the examination.

To enhance coordination, all officials involved in the process have been added to a dedicated WhatsApp communication group.

The session concluded with all participants reaffirming their commitment to conducting the examinations in a fair, disciplined and transparent manner.
