By Leh: The University of Ladakh organised the UT-Level Red Run 2026 in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh AIDS Control Society and the Department of Health and Medical Education to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention, healthy lifestyles, substance abuse and stigma reduction.
The run, flagged off by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Saket Kushwaha, started from Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and concluded at the University’s Administrative Block. Around 200 participants from colleges, universities, Sowa-Rigpa institutions, CIBS, Ladakh Police and other institutions took part.
Participants were sensitised on HIV/AIDS, STIs, hepatitis, screening, prevention and counselling, with emphasis on early testing and combating stigma. A collective pledge of “No Drugs, No HIV/AIDS” was also taken.
