Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra reviews development works and local issues in Zanskar

 

Zanskar, Oct 3: Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, Ashish Kundra chaired a meeting with district officers at TRC Padum to review ongoing developmental works and key issues concerning the region.

The meeting covered Nautor land regularisation, land-use change notifications, Pashmina production, cooperatives, horticulture, high-value crops, Himsarovar, irrigation channels, ICDS, Jal Jeevan Mission and PWD works.

Kundra emphasised employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities for local youth and called for identifying educated and capable youth from every village under the Champions of Change initiative.

Healthcare infrastructure, hydroelectric projects under KREDA and grid connectivity under PDD were also reviewed. He directed departments to regularly monitor power and grid-related issues.

Later, Kundra held a public interaction with representatives of villages and local organisations. Delegations raised issues concerning Karsha Monastery works, water storage, new revenue villages, roads, administrative support, Councillor seats for Lungnak, employee transfers, tourism and taxi infrastructure, an ARTO office, and delimitation of Padum Town.

The Chief Secretary assured the delegations that the issues would be examined by the concerned departments and addressed as per applicable rules and procedures.
