By Kargil, October 5, 2026: The The Assistant Electoral Registration Officer/ Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Kargil, Tahir Ahmad today chaired a meeting with representatives of various political parties regarding the draft publication and revision of Municipal Electoral Roll, 2026 for Municipal Committee Kargil under the relevant provision of the Municipal Election Rules, 2003.
During the meeting, the participants were informed that the draft Electoral Rolls have been prepared and published and are available for inspection at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer (Assistant Commissioner, Revenue), Kargil, as well as at the office of the Municipal Committee, Kargil, during office hours.
Further, the concerned PSLOs have been directed to display the draft electroal roll at their respective polling stations for public inspection.
The representatives of political parties were informed that claims for inclusion of names, objections to the inclusion of any name, or objections to particulars in any entry, with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, may be submitted in Forms 3, 4 or 5, as applicable, on or before October 15, 2026.
Claims and objections may be submitted to the Electoral Registration Officer (Assistant Commissioner, Revenue), Kargil, or to the respective Polling Station Level Officers (PSLOs) within the prescribed timeline.
The Executive Officer urged the representatives of all political parties to cooperate in the process and assist in ensuring that eligible residents are duly included in the Electoral Rolls. He also appealed to all eligible residents to inspect the draft Electoral Rolls and submit claims or objections, if any, within the stipulated time.
The meeting was attended by the Election Officer, Kargil; representatives of the SLTM Election Cell; District President, AAP, Kargil; District President, BJP, Kargil; Representative of INC, Kargil; District President, JKNC, Kargil; besides other officials and representatives.
