Director School Education Ladakh Chairs Review Meeting on Academic and Administrative Progress in Kargil

Kargil, October 5, 2026: The Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Shri Tsering Paldan, JKAS, chaired a review meeting at Conference Hall Baroo, Kargil, to assess the progress of departmental activities, academic performance and key administrative matters.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer Kargil, all Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), Principals of Government and Private Higher Secondary Schools, and Heads of Government and Private High Schools.

The meeting reviewed the physical progress of works under Samagra Shiksha and PM SHRI, student enrolment and dropout status, zero-enrolment and single-staff schools, UDISE+ updation, academic progress, syllabus completion, examination preparedness, SQAAF and residential remedial programmes for Classes 10th and 12th.

The Director directed all ZEOs and Heads of Institutions to cross-check and verify enrolment and dropout data and ensure its final and accurate updation. The CEO Kargil was instructed to undertake a detailed review of zero-enrolment and single-staff schools.

He further directed all ZEOs to frequently visit their respective zones and regularly review academic performance, teaching-learning processes and student outcomes, ensuring timely corrective measures wherever required.

The Director emphasised regular field-level monitoring, accurate data management and institutional accountability for strengthening the quality of education and improving learning outcomes across Kargil district.
