KARGIL, NOVEMBER 01, 2021: After 40 days of continuous strike by daily wagers in both districts of Leh and Kargil, the UT Ladakh Administration has assured to regularise the casual labours in next few months, announced the representatives of daily wagers today in a press conference at Leh.
In a meeting that was attended by Commissioner Secretary Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Deputy Commissioner, the administration has assured to regularise the daily wagers on their respective services by the month of March, April of next year, the press conference maintained.
The press conference thanked the LG Ladakh R.K. Mathur, Commissioner Secretary Ajeet Kumar Sahu, and Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal for taking the decision.
Pertinent to mention that the daily wagers in both Leh and Kargil district were on 40 days long strike demanding regularisation of their services and increment in their honorarium.
After rolling back the strike, the daily wagers have resumed their service in their respective departments, announced the press conference. The press conference further requested the UT Administration to regularise the 52 number of workers that were disengaged from Municipal Committee.
