DC Kargil chairs District Capex Budget review meeting
Kargil, Jan 18, 2023: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a meeting of the district officers in his office chamber to review the pace of progress achieved on different works under the District Capex Budget 2022-23 and took a review of Border Area Development Programme (BADP), Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram(PMJVK), 2022-23 schemes.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kargil, A. G. Zargar, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Abdul Hadi, Superintending Engineer R&B, Abdul Mutalib, Superintending Engineer PHE, Maqbool Hussain, Executive Engineers of various departments, officers of Health, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, Panchayat, Tourism, Handicrafts, Handloom besides other concerned officers and officials of other departments attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the expenditure status of all departments. He directed all the officers to complete the remaining ongoing developmental works at the earliest and stressed upon the officers to achieve 100 percent achievement of expenditure this year.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the district officers to accelerate the pace of works and expedite booking of expenditure. He further said that if any department fails to make expenditure of current budget their funds in the next year budget will be reduced proportionately.
DC Kargil stressed for optimum utilization of funds during the current financial year and directed the officers to gear up their manpower and machinery to complete the developmental works within the stipulated timelines. He stressed that the financial rules should be followed in letter and spirit. He also directed to ensure that the works are accelerated to create tangible results on ground.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed officers to start developing ideas for the incorporation of new schemes and projects in the next financial year.
He directed the officers to focus on gender budgeting, a powerful tool for achieving gender mainstreaming so as to ensure that the benefits of development reach women as much as men.
