ADC conducts market checking at Kargil

Kargil, Feb 24, 2023: In order to put checks on expired food items and overpricing, a team of officials headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani today conducted a massive market checking at different places and fined the defaulters.

The team included Tehsildar Kargil, Chief Inspector and TSO Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Kargil, Food Safety Officer, Tax Inspector and Tax Collector, MC Kargil, and police team of Police Post Bazar, Kargil.

The checking was conducted in main market Kargil in which nearly 55 business establishments like Kiryana shops, Chicken and Mutton shops, tea stalls, hotels etc. were inspected thoroughly by the team.

Out of 55, a total of 25 business establishments were fined Rs 11,200 besides huge expired food items were seized and destroyed in presence of the market checking team.

During the market checking, ADC Kargil advised all shopkeepers to maintain sanitation and hygiene in their shops and follow rules and regulations. He also warned them not to sell the expired food items to customers and desist from displaying expired goods in their respective shops in the future.
