ADC Kargil Attends LOA’s District-Level Archery Tournament at Khri Sultan Cho Stadium

Kargil, February 19, 2026: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Imteeaz Kacho attended the District-Level Archery Tournament (2026) organized by the Ladakh Olympic Association (LOA), Kargil held at the Khri Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Byamathang.

On the occasion, Zonal Physical Education Officers, President, LOA-Kargil Mehraj Chirag and other officials were present. A total of 13 teams participated in the Modern Archery category, while 30 teams competed in Traditional Archery.

In the Modern Archery final, Sainik Byathang (Shiliktchey) defeated 64 United Archer Tambis by 64–62 in four rounds. In another match, T2 Archer Blue Tingdo secured victory over Ten Spartan Brako by 29–26.

Addressing on the occasion, the ADC appreciated the players for displaying true sportsmanship spirit. He lauded the organisers for successfully conducting the tournament and providing a platform for young talent to showcase their skills. He assured that the district administration will continue to extend full support to sports activities in Kargil.

Kacho encouraged the participants to represent Kargil at national and international levels and congratulated the winners and runners-up for their outstanding performances. The ADC also highlighted the importance of sports in eradicating the drug menace from the district, stating that sports serve as one of the best tools to channel youth energy positively. He urged students to actively participate in sports at school, college and other levels to stay away from drug abuse and other unlawful activities and to focus on constructive pursuits.

Later, trophies were distributed to the winners and runners-up of Modern and Traditional Archery. Awards for Man of the Match and Man of the Series were also presented along with cash rewards to the deserving players.
