India AI Summit Highlights Nation’s Leadership in Ethical and Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence

New Delhi, Feb 18 — As India steadily moves toward becoming a global technology leader, artificial intelligence is emerging as a powerful driver of inclusive growth, good governance, and sustainable development. The recently held India AI Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, brought together participants from over 20 countries, reinforcing India’s growing role as a trusted global partner in shaping responsible and ethical AI.

During the summit, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, emphasized that the event reflects India’s commitment to human-centric and ethical artificial intelligence. He noted that such platforms not only showcase technological innovation but also encourage global collaboration in the development of emerging technologies.

Highlighting Ladakh’s potential in the AI ecosystem, the Lieutenant Governor stated that the region offers long-term advantages for sustainable and green data infrastructure. He added that Ladakh is actively working toward becoming the country’s first AI-enabled city, aligning with national efforts to integrate advanced technology into governance and public services.

During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor toured several technology pavilions and interacted with representatives from leading global and Indian companies, including Google, Meta, Amazon, Airtel, and CoRover, along with other IT firms engaged in artificial intelligence. He appreciated the innovative AI-based solutions presented at the summit, especially those aimed at enhancing governance efficiency, improving public service delivery, and strengthening sectors such as healthcare, education, and digital inclusion.

The summit also underscored the impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India and “AI for All,” which has laid a strong foundation for leveraging emerging technologies to empower citizens and modernize institutions. According to the Lieutenant Governor, this vision has positioned India as a global voice for innovation with responsibility, ensuring that technological advancement remains inclusive and beneficial to society.

He further remarked that technology-led governance and ethical AI adoption are key to ensuring that development reaches the last mile. The India AI Summit, therefore, stands as a significant step in promoting innovation, sustainability, and collaborative growth while reinforcing India’s leadership in the global AI landscape.
