ADC Kargil reviews arrangements for Shab-e-Qadr, commemoration of Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (AS), Jumu’atul-Wida procession, Eid-ul-Fitr

Kargil April 08, 2023: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani today convened a meeting with concerned officers/officials and religious organizations to review arrangements for Shab-e-Qadr, commemoration of Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (AS) on 21st Ramadan, Jumu’atul-Wida and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The religious organizations requested the district administration to make necessary arrangements for the upcoming Shabs, processions, Jumu’atul-Wida and Eid-ul-Fitr (2023).

The ADC instructed the concerned officers to ensure necessary arrangements like medical facilities, drinking water supply, uninterrupted electricity, smooth traffic movement in day and night etc.

He also instructed the religious organizations to follow the latest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and COVID-19 guidelines issued from time to time during the Shabs and processions.

The ADC instructed religious institutions to make arrangements of volunteers to coordinate with the administration to pass the processions from defined routes on given time.

After a thorough discussion, it was decided that police department will ensure smooth traffic movement in the town and surrounding areas and proper parking of vehicles only at the already identified places. The ADC directed Executive Officer, MC Kargil to ensure cleaning of Hussaini Park, Inquilab Manzil, Eid Gah and all masjid premises for the processions and Eid prayers. It was also decided that Administrator MC Kargil, will ensure cleaning of the market and premises/surroundings of all Masjids in the town.

Further, Chief Medical Officer will ensure all medical facilities as per past practices. Exen PHE Division Kargil will ensure proper and timely supply of drinking water in the town and sub division.

Similarly, Power Development Department (PDD) was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the town and all the pending works to be completed on fast track basis with the collaboration with MC Kargil.

FCS&CA, Kargil shall ensure frequent market checking with enforcement team, and DRC Kargil, will ensure availability of essential commodities in the market on these occasions.

Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Dy SP Kargil, Assistant Director FCS&CA Kargil, Executive Officer MC Kargil, Exen PHE Division Kargil, AE PDD Kargil, Food Safety Officer other Officers/Officials heads of several religious organizations were also present in the meeting.
