ASI Mini Circle Leh celebrates World Heritage Day

Leh, April 19: Archaeological Survey of India, Mini Circle Leh celebrated World Heritage Day on April 18th at ancient Leh Palace. Professor Phunchok Angmo, HoD, Department of History, University of Ladakh was the chief guest; Aaron Deva Dana, Creative Director, Ladakh Arts and Media Organisation was the guest of honour and Dr Rinchen Dolma & Dr Nazia Jabeen from UoL were present as special guests.

On the occasion, students from History Department, University of Ladakh were invited and had an interactive and brainstorming session on Heritage and Culture. The students were briefed about the importance of protection and preservation of our forefathers treasures.

Also, a discussion was held on how to face the challenges to protect the heritage in this era of urbanization.

Hosting the event, Dr Sonam Spalzin from Archaeological Survey of India congratulated the UoL students for choosing history in their masters level and encouraged them to do research in our culture and heritage. She also assured to provide support and guidance.

A photo exhibition was also organised as a part of the programme.
